Default New c5, mod ?'s

Just bought a 98 c5, 6spd, vert, z51, I'm coming from a c4. I want a loud exhaust. I don't need to be backfiring all over the place, but I like loud. I had the straght-through Magnaflows on my c4 and I liked them so I am thinking of the $450 Magnapack system for my c5. The current exhaust on the car has the small bypass tubes on it and I can barely hear it, I was quite surprised to find out it wasn't stock. Maybe I've just worked around aircraft too long

My questions:
1.)I am planning on getting LT headers eventually, any problems going to occur for me down the road with the magnaflow exhaust/x-pipe?

2.)The blurb for the magnapack Magnaflow exhaust says welding required, Is this just welding the pipes on or what?

3.)Did the Z51 come with different brakes than the standard?

4.)Any suggestions on the best bang for the buck LT's. It seems hard to justify spending $1200 on a set of headers when every other cars headers out there can be had for 1/2 the price, even other generations of Vettes.

5.)The car came with a K&N replacement filter and I have cut the lid open. Would it be worth the $400 to replace this with an aftermarket setup? If so, I like the Vaaraam, but it doesn't come with the air-bridge, should I get that too?

Well, scratch that whole idea. Guess the magnapack system only fits 00-04 for some reason? What's different between them that this won't work on a 98?

Hi There,

First off congrats on the vette . I will only answer what I know, I'll leave the others to people with more info on the subject.

4) TPIS/SLPs are good choices for Best bang for buck.

5) Depends on you. Is the extra hp worth it to you ( note that the gains are not that high ) ? I'm getting a Vararam simply because I going with a 400+ CID setup soon and it is the intake system to have on NA applications ( Although there are members out there that would disagree - they now who they are ) To each his own but I went with the vararam coz' of all the positive reviews from members/tuners & friends.
