As title asks..... will underpulley upgrade equate to hp gains? How much of an increase iin hp and at what cost?? Any recommendations on the brand to use?
I've got an ASP pulley and I noticed the engine revs quicker. I didn't do a back to back dyno comparison so I can't tell you what the gains were. It's generally accepted to say 5-10rwhp.
To do the swap, you have to take off the alternator, water pump, the steering pump bracket, and the steering rack. Most people say it's not worth it to do the pulley swap unless your doing a cam swap at the same time. This comes from the fact that you're doing ALOT of work just for 5-10rwhp. But know that to do the pulley swap by itself, you will be HALFWAY into doing a cam swap. You don't have to do everything for a cam swap as you would for a pulley swap.
To finish doing the cam swap you have to take the timing cover off, the cam sprocket, and it's recommended to change the timing chain and oil pump while your in there. Oh yea, and you'll have to go back to the front of the car and remove the radiator and fans, now back in the engine make sure the lifters won't fall down, and then you can change the cam.
I hope this helps
