Have a 2000 convetable. With the top and windows up, if I close the door the window is rubing a hole in the back upper coner of the top. If I push the top edge of the window in as the door closes it clears the fabric top and seats in on the rubber seal OK. I check the adjustments for the "window tip" (front & back) both adjustments are set at max for top in/bottom out. Ive seen a number of vetts with the same rub hole in the top. Anybody have this problem and solve it? Thanks Don
i have the same issue but right now the vert is in the shop. i think that there is a adjustment for how far up the window raises.
ive read where the tip in is adjusted thru the relector? i think the height is adjusted thru the bottom of the door?
When I had my 98 Vert I just put the driver’s window down a bit before closing door. **Disclaimer here, I normally drive top down and keep the car in a garage**
When I sold my C5 in the beginning of June no fraying showed.
Many of the C5 have this problem
Mine did that when I first got the car, it's not supposed to do that but it is a common problem. I fixed it by adjusting the window tip in, and moving the window forward a little bit.
total cost......... $0.00
I don't see any unusual wear on my 2000 vert (50k miles). So apparently, the window can be adjusted to avoid the problem or there is a lot of variation in the tops themselves.
