Do you have to remove the entire bellhousing to install a Twin Disk Clutch such as the Mcleod? All of the diy guides show the clutch being installed through the flywheel inspection cover. Is a twin disk to big to fit through the inspection hole? Removing the entire bellhousing looks like a major pita!
I don't think it's possible. You might be able to get away with leaving the bellhousing on but I think it's easier to just pull it. Clutch installs are a major PITA on vettes compared to the mustangs I've previously owned. Dope has a great clutch tutorial somewhere on the forum.
I installed my Exedy without removing the bellhousing.. not a problem.
Thats good to know. The only way I can see you can get to the bolts to remove the bellhousing, would be to lower the whole front subframe engine and all. Not a fun task!
Most all the clutchs can be done with the bell housing in place. Only exception are the real thick duel disks where you might have to loosen the bell housing a little bit.

OK, so I assume once the torque tube is droped the motor can be tilted enough to get to bolts to remove the bellhousing? Otherwise, I would have to completly drop the motor to get to them.
