Default C5 lug nuts??

Can anyone tell me why there is one lug nut that sticks out farther that the other four on each wheel of my 2000 coupe? I just bought this C5 and just noticed this as I was detailing the car.

I have a photo I can email if you'd like to see what I'm talking about.
Could this be some sort of non GM lock nut??

It's probably your wheel locks. I had a set from a 02 Z28 and the locks stuck out just slightly more than the others.

How do these locks work? The lug nut appears to be the same size as the others and the same hexagon shape. Just longer.

My guess is if you are not the original owner that at some point somebody had lockers on there took them off then replaced them with different size nuts

Have you removed the plastic lug nut covers?

Yes, I have removed the plastic caps which confirm that one lug nut on each wheel is longer. The previous post may be correct, may be just longer lug nuts that the previous owner replaced the lock nuts with......

My suggestion would be to look on line and buy McGuard Chrome Lugs. The Stock lugs with the plastic caps blow...

(I say look online because I looked at Pep boys and they wanted some foolish amount of money for them).

House of Wheels has them with locks for $24.95 shipped... great vendor to deal with and a great value.
