I'm about to buy a new slave cylinder for my 2000 hardtop and was wondering if the Z06 slave cylinder is any better than the slave on the non-Z06 cars. If so, is this a bolt-on upgrade or does it require modification? Also, will I need to buy a Z06 clutch master cylinder or will the 2000 part work?
The Z06 slave is now the stock replacement for 1997-2004's. You cannot purchase a non-z06 slave now. It will work without any modification and without the master addition.

Ditto what Gene at Beans said.... I just replaced my 1999 C5's slave cylinder and entire clutch assembly(flywheel etc) and I found that some dealers are NOT EVEN AWARE that the replacement parts have been upgraded to Z06 parts!! This is due to all the problems with the stock C5 replacement parts. Anyway, you won't find a better price than through Gene. Questions??....feel free to email me.
