Default Borla question

What kinds of gains can I hope to get (both decibels and hp) by adding a set of Stingers? Other than the twin tube intake I'm pretty much stock at the moment.

I wouldn't expect any horsepower gains from stingers, although I wouldn't be surprised if you got a couple of ponys from them along with 8-12 hp from your air intake! Your best bet for some good power gains would probably be longtube headers. If you still want more power after that you can go "cam only"/nitrous/supercharger/heads&cam, etc. The headers will only help in all of the above scenarios. Good luck!!!

PS: The stingers have an awesome growl, and sound good even without the headers. Stingers are a real good mod, and would be a good 2nd mod for your car!!!

You might feel some "seat of the pants" performance improvement. The sound will be a nice rumble at idle and a deep roar on acceleration with a decent sound at cruise.

With the VaraRam and Stringers only, I went from a 13.7 (100.9 mph)to a 13.2 (104.87 mph)in the 1/4 mile. Now when I'm driving and listening to my Stingers this is me. I'm adding Kooks headers (+ cats) as soon as the the UP's man brings them to my door.

I have the quad tip rounds. Bought mine from 21 Century Exhaust in Boynton Beach, FL at 717.00 lowest in country.

They're awesome sounding but I too agree that you will not see much HP gain just from the cat backs.

Hope this helps,
Mike

Borla stingers without the cats sound insanely wild! I gutted out my cats and it's been over 2 weeks and no check engine light ever came on.
