have any of the guys/girls here on the forum installed one of these predators and got their car to chirp on the 1-2 shift ...and how much better did it make your car run....could you tell it right away or not really much at all???????....

I have a 2004 A4 convertable with a twin cone air cleaner and the predator perf tune, under full throttle it will chirp from first to second even with the air conditioner on.
I have a 6spd, so if I want, I can smoke 1st, 2nd and into 3rd. Predator took the annoying 1 to 4 shift out of the equation for me. Also, my Vette seemed to have a little better throttle response. Don't know if it really did...hard to tell with 385+ hp, but it made me feel like it did something.
It seemed to take my PCM about 50 miles to pick up on the different tune, then I really began to feel the difference in shifting....of course now I definitely notice a difference as Johan at Diablo custom dyno tuned it last week.
I have an A4 with Predator tune. Pulled down et from 13.31 to 13.09. will not chirp tires on part throttle. My brother said the tires chirped on 1-2 shift at the track. I could not hear it with the GHL bullets and Blackwing filter.
3.15 a4 w predator will chirp the tires hard 1-2 shift on blacktop especially well made a big difference to me in all situations all points of the powerband downshifts are much more abrupt and car pulls harder with it installed
sounds good to me so far!!!.....but has anybody went in and adjusted their line pressure to make it shift harder than the "performance tune" already had and if so what all did you change ....line pressure, rpm shift
ect!!....thanks
sorry i gave you the wrong info heres a direct quote from another thread by mike mercury
Then after running with the basic Performance Tune for a few eeeks; then try to :
* increase shift pressure by +10%
* decrease shift time by -10%
* increase timing by +3% (if you use 92-93 octane exclusively)
he also mentins leaning it out 3 percent after everything is running good (still havent tried this yet, but all the other suggestions or how i have mine set up and it made a big improvement)
I received my Predator with a tune from SLP as part of the ZL6 package. This package, a 3.42 rear, and the TQ Mgr off, with pressures raised 10% and shift time -5, and in Comp mode, the car would completely break loose shifting from 1-2. This was so dramatic that with the Traction Control on, it would kick in to control the sideward movement of the car.
Just to see the difference, I reinstalled the stock tune, and I couldn't get the rear to break loose shifting from 1-2 unless I was on wet pavement. I'm convinced of the value of the Tuners.
