has anyone ever had a relay go out when using the t84 high wattage lights my low beam relay went bad after about 6 months
any suggestions its was a hella 30 amp dual 87 output relay i ran 10 guage wire for all connections
ive replaced it with a new one but wonder what caused the first one to fail
i tried operating the relay and tested it with a multimeter apparently the internal switching mechanism is stuck closed or burnt off
any suggestions
thanks
garrett
they were mounted under the passenger side light in the fenderwell
i had everything taped up so nothing could get them wet and they worked fine up until thursday night we had no rain earlier in the week for them to get wet either maybe i just got that 1 in 1000 defective parts
the relay i replaced it with is working fine so far
but i dont know kinda weird for a relay to just go out for no identifiable reason
i had the low beam relay go out about 3 hours after installing the kit. i swapped to the hi beam one so i could have lights. the vendor sent me a replacement... however i didn't get it in time for my 3000 mile road trip so we drove around with wires and a toggle switch strapped to the dash to turn the hi beams on. interesting.
actually i got my replacement from autozone its a heavy duty 30 relay that has dual 87 outputs they are only about $4.30 with tax
i found it in the section where they keep the fog lights
