Default Problem with A/C unit\HVAC: Intermittent no power

When I start the car the unit will not come on until about 30 seconds to a couple minutes later (no power\no display.) Then sometimes, when the unit is on and working, the until will just lose it’s power and shut off (no power\no display). I will check again, but I don’t have any codes… well none for HVAC anyway.
I contacted the guy on ebay that fixes these units for like $50 but he doesn’t think he can fix this problem. He says it sounds like a grounding\power issue. Which I agree. Unless you guys have another idea of what it can be.
Also, where is the grounding point for the A/C\HVAC unit?

Sorry I can't help with the problem but very interested to know what is causing this because I have had the same problem. It seems no one likes to respond to this kind of problem. I have seen similar questions before and they get no or little response. I have been learning to live with it so far.

If you can get your hands on a shop manual it should have an electronics schematic that would show how its wired and possibly where it is grounded.

Default A/C power intermitting

Please see Bill Curlee's post dates 7-21-05 concerning electrical gounding. I saw this tonight and it seem that this could be our problems. I noticed tonight that my back up lights are not working when the A/C has np power. Is you condition the same. The question is which ground is for the A/C blower controls? Hope this helps..

I believe, after reading many posts the HVAC ground is G202:
G202 bottom of A-pillar, rt, bolted at the bottom (with SP202)
G202: Splice pack SP202:
Passenger door module (pdm)
Door latch, passenger side
Body control module (bcm)
HVAC control module
IP compartment lamp
Footwell courtesy lamp, right
Vanity mirror lamp, left
Vanity mirror lamp, right
Inside rearview mirror
Bose relay 45
Ignition switch
Blower motor relay c60
Blower motor control processor
Hood ajar switch
Cigar lighter
A/t shift lock control solenoid

I haven't been able to take a look at it on my car yet. But if you have ever suffered from the wet passenger floor before, like I have, that might have corroded the ground connection a little.
I'm going to look at it as soon as the temp goes down a little here. I don't have a garage and hate working on the inside of the car in 100 degree weather.

Please see my response to "Code No Comm" or "A/C takes forever to come on" Seems we had the same issue. My repair was a new ignition switch. Part number 10308321 cost $75 and Labor $ 275. All problems fixed including many other codes including O2 sensor code triping the engine light and other comm issues.

Let me know if I can help...
