Dallas Area Engine Shops?
I could do the work, but it's just to dang hot to be diving in the engine compartment, pulling parts off to get to the top end and check for damage to push rods, springs, seals, seats and valve train integrity -a result I might add from stupidly letting someone drive my MN6
, who accidently attempting power shifting from 2nd back to first instead of third.
Big time over-rev, off the scale - now makes smoke - the bluish kind
Spent about an hour pulling plugs and called it quits for the night. Was going to do compression check - ran out of energy, banged up knuckles, sweat burning my eyes. Would rather spend the $$$ and be SURE of the results of checking out the top end.
Has to be a helper/hands on sort of place/person - no way for the "insurance won't let you back in the shop"
My place or yours. Tools, air, and cold whatever you want.
Also, I have heard great things about 21MC.

start with a leakdown and then you should have a gameplan.Somtimes it is cheaper to get a used ls6 from 21st he allways has a few with low miles.

I took it to LG. They tore it down and identified the problem within 2 hours. It has been perfect since. They build and race vettes, not just work on them like most shops.

I had a local shop(probably the same shop Jeff Jeff is referring to) install a cam incorrectly and refused to fix the problem in a timely manner(5+ weeks without my car!).
In the end, 21st repaired all of the errors from the first install and added LT's, vararam, and a tune(took 21st 2 days).
