Today was a day with alot of ups and downs. Woke up pretty early to see that the day was going to be pretty nice for driving, temps were around 80 with little humidity. We were going to meet up with about 20 of the local corvette guys @ Hooters for lunch and trash talking. I met up with the president of the local club and a couple of younger corvette enthusiasts. Lunch was great, lots of hot chicks and cold beer as usual. Over the last few weeks I have been working with a customer trying to get to the bottom of his lost power in his supercharged 346 convertable. While we were driving to Hooters he and another member lined up and were playing only to find his car stumble hard. When we left he had said that he was going to come by later to check out my new house. Herby came by about an hour later and his car was not running the was it had before.
We did a couple of diagnostic tests, pulled the plugs and they looked fine. Did a compression test on 2 cylinders and found the problem.... #3 cylinder had normal compression but #7 had no compression at all. So he left his car @ my house and we started working on it today, got the fluids drained, the hood removed and a couple little ends taken care of.
We have a few options but probably going to drop some 3.898 forged replacement pistons, new rings and Carrillo rods. I am trying to convince him to go to the new Kenny Bell 2.4 Blower when it comes out but only time will tell...
