Sorry Pat , but much like you, I now have a hole through the hood were my alt cooling fan broke during burnout and flew through the hood . At least no one was hurt!!!!!!! Fan made a nice surgical 1" long and 1/8" wide slice on the underside, and created a 3" diameter mess on the topside. Well I always wanted to try my fiberglass skills on a hood
Top that off with an $84 illegal window tint ticket
Man that sucks...any idea what caused it to let loose or is it something we can all look forward to? Also sorry about the ticket, I guess they have to keep you real criminals in check so you do not take over the world
damn...reminds me of the clutch letting go in my 79 RX-7 tearing the whole left side of the bell housing out and putting a nice dent in my hood....nice loud *bang* followed by me saying WTF!!!! and fluid all over the ground
That sucks!! Will you be able to show in Independence next month??
Hope so
I run a custom 220Amp alt for the stereo and everything else. Looks like the alt pulley nut loosened just enough to let the fan walk forward/rearward. This was just enough movement to let the fan graze the power steering braket and fracture the external cooling fan blades. Pics will be up tonight, as I don't want to look at the damn thing right now
just a matter of time for everyone if reving over 6400rpms. i feel your pain . good luck with the fix. i bought a metal pulley from marchperformance to solve that problem
