My dad just got a 2000 FRC. apperantly the previous owner was fed up with getting an ABS code, and traded it (is my theroy because it is a nice car, almost as nice as mine ). He is getting a code History and Current for that LF Sensor. Also it triggers the ABS and TCS lights on the dash, but sometimes triggers the RH side as well. (We found out later it had minor damage to the front left side in a minor accident according to Car Fax). Who ever he sent it to though to figure the problem out (the previous owner) thought changing the brakes would fix the problem. niiiiiice. Anyway I have trouble shot it down to being the LF side by ways of just reading the codes, amazing how reading codes can help huh. I am needing a wiring diagram so I can figure out where the wires are going so I can check for breaks in the wire, grounds, pin assignments to the PCM you know the works. He has a few other issues I would like to resolve as well so if anyone has any idea where i can find these on the net or has them I would greatly appreciate it. Its not a bad car just a few things that I can fix for him if I have the right tools Such as wire schematics. He is also having issues with his turn signals but I am thinking that is his 4 way hazard switch since his blinkers and hazards are intermitten and no other lights are affected. Thanks guys
Just helped a buddy with this same problem a couple of weekends ago. He was getting the 1225 and 1283 codes, the first indicating LF excessive wheel speed variation. Thinking he had a bad sensor, we took the front wheels off and test the sensors and checked the wiring. The LF sensor wires run up to the EBCM connector on the ABS unit. We could find nothing wrong. Oddly enough, when we put it back together and took a test drive, the 1225 code was gon and hasn't returned. We suspected that it may have been a bad wire/connection and could return if the wire's condition changes again.
The 1283 code is still there but this is probalby the yaw-rate or latteral-acceleration sensor which he's in the process of testing.
C1232 LF Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Open or Shorted
U1096 Loss of Communication with IPC
These codes I am getting occationally
U1064 Loss of Communication with BCM
U1016 Loss of Communication with PCM
C1255 EBTCM Internal Failure
No matter what I get the C1232 all the time. Cannot even reset it while driving. Figure I would try. If you could shoot me that trouble shooting procedure that would be great (email: Dtiff95@aol.com or damon@badmonkeymotorsports.com). Right now I am going to start taking it apart to see if there is anything obvious. Thanks
