Default Loud "click" when I hit the brakes.

This is pissing me off, when I hit the brakes, right when the car finally stops, there is a loud "click" and I can feel it in the pedal. I pulled it apart and everything looked fine, no broken sway bars or loose bushings. I took the calipers off and the sliders were lubed fine. The rotors are OK, the pads are intact and the brackets look fine.
Any ideas?

Had the prioblem with my Chevy G20 van it was poor lube on the bolts. Lubed them and reinstalled and it was fine, but you said yours were well lubed. ????
I'll look around and see what I can find out from a frind that does brakes for a large garage.

check the emergency brake cable. If it is not in its little holder, then it can cause a vibration and a loud clicking sound.

Its definitely from the front. I cleaned and lubed the slider pins so they aren't sticking. There wasn't a lot of play so I am not sure if the caliper is rocking. I did have the rack out to change my oil pump but its all bolted back tight.

I have the same problem. Noise comes from both front calipers the moment I brake as long as the car is moving. Noise will not immediately repeat if I brake again, but will if I wait approx. 20 seconds. Some times only the left front will click and other times both will, usually with a slight delay in between both clicks. All the bolts are tight, and the slider bolts seem well lubed.

Well, when I hit the brakes, there is no noise, its right at the point where the car actually stops.

Did anyone find a solution to this problem?? I have been pulling my hair out to fix the same noise. New sway bar ends, bushings, greased sliders, new rotors, tightened all the bolts, looked for cracks in the frame, on on on on. Still there????????????????

Thanks

You say you greased the sliders, did totally separate the two halves of the calipers and make sure you had fresh grease (or anti-seize) throughout? Also, does swapping pads from side to side change anything?

I fixed the loud clicking noise by replacing the three metal brackets that come along with a new set of pads and lubed the pins.
