Had the same problem and started cleaning up the electrical contacts all over the car. There is a diagram posted (I'll see if I can find it and post it) that shows where all of the grounds and quick disconnects are on the frame. Here is a list and you'll really want to look at #s G103, 401 and 402. 401 and 2 are affixed to the frame behind the cockpit and accessable through the wheel wells. I loosened them, cleaned them with electrical cleaner and put them back on. Take care not to breal the bolts off. If you do retap and put in a new bolt close to the old.
Good luck hope this helps.

Default Active Handling

I had this problem. It started showing up after I had my 02 (Purchased used with 17,000) for only a month. The messages went on and off for awhile then stayed on. By the time I had it checked I was out of warranty for 1 month. I was confronted with a $1200.00 repair bill for a module no bigger than my fist. I fixed it then bitched big time to Chev customer service. Guess what? They reimbursed me 100%. Said it was a safety issue and I guess they wanted to keep me as a customer. I would never buy another if they had done otherwise. I was very pleased with the service I received. FrankP

I am having the same problem. I haven't tried cleaning the electrical contacts yet but I'm hoping that will work. Anybody else have any ideas?

Well for all the little problems we seem to have with our vette's I am still going to say it is the best car I have ever had. I love the power and the looks of the car. It is by far the most comfortable sports car I have ever had. I drove my buddies Viper GTS the other day and I hated it. It was just laid out all wrong in the cockpit. Hard to get in and out of. Funky pedal location. Funky shifter location. And the worst part was it sounded it like a damn Honda with a Fart can on the back!
So I must say I still love my Z even though I have an occassional issue with it.
