Did anyone install a LED light with their Line Lock.........
Im going to install a Cartek Line lock and thinking about installing a LED light to know when its on and Off
I thought about it. You could wire a LED to indicate when the solenoid is energized. Just tap into the solenoid power near the solenoid. Although it would actually only indicate that power is reaching the solenoid.
Good idea though.
i had my tci line lock installed w/ a momentary switch from my nx nitrous kit( push and hold to activate, let go to deactivate). this way i don,t have to remember if its on or off.works great

Actually it would only be on for five section during the burnout, I said why bother.

I have been thinking of installing a line loc for some time. Realizing you would only activate it with the ASR off, does it affect your ABS in any way? Is there a how-to anywhere in cyberspace to read up on it? I know how to install on a dinosaur, but the new computer-controls-everyting cars scare me.
That install looks pretty straight forward, Mike we should just let Arnold put this on my car while it is in the shop--will be easy since I will have new pads and rotors installed he got to bleed the system anyway.
Cajun I like where you put your line lock button and light. Mine is a button on the left side of the dashboard with a light, but it is not hidden like yours....
BTW - I also recommend a button and not a switch. A switch can easily be turned on by mistake. A button is either pushed in or not....

Don't need a light, but it would look pretty at night.

Cajun- I read your write up, good job. I would like to add a few comments, though.
1) I prefer wiring the switch to a switched ignition source. You should not need it when the car is not running anyway. I just think this is a little safer.
2) There is a great place to ground the solenoid in the engine bay. There is a ground stud near the distribution block on the frame rail, or near the front of the washer fluid resevoir. Ground cables should be kept as short as possible and this is a better ground point.
3) I wired mine in using a relay. But if a relay is not used I would recommend wiring it directly from the fuseblock. The acc wire you tapped into might not be able to support enough current to activate the solenoid without blowing a fuse. I am surprised that you have not run into any problems. Also when place the fuse as close as possible to the power source. the fuse is there to protect the wiring.
4) Radio shack and parts houses have a variey of momentary buttons that can be used. I use the momentary button from NX. They replace the ashtray.
