My 98 is having a mid to upper RPM surge/miss from about 4k to 6.5k. Easy driving around town everthing is fine under heavy acceleration my problem starts to appear. The car has 75K on it with h/c. I will be replacing the fuel filter soon which is supposed to be on my rear frame rail. Along with that i'll be checking my fuel pressure(under load) and wondered how the fuel pressure regulator works and lets fuel return to the tank. Any thoughts or information would be appreciated.

Fuel Filter

[Silver98]The fuel filter is on the driver's side, nested up above the frame rail forward of the rear wheel. Looked real easy to change on the lift.

75,000 miles and not sure when it was changed last?.....That's a good place to start. You will need a special tool (auto zone, napa, pep boys) that you slip over the fuel line, push into the filter to release the fingers that hold the fuel line to the filter. Good luck
