window tints ? anyone tinted the rear window?
I have a 99 coupe, and would like to tint the side windows, and the rear hatchback window. I was wondering if others have done the hatchback window ? Any problems with the defrost wires ??

I've tinted all the glass (front included) with specially obtained 50% film with extreme UV blocking. The FM antenna and defroster wires work fine, I have no trouble seeing at night and the in cabin temps are markedly reduced. This provides a very nice, but not radical, change in looks and a good improvement in function. Find your way to a really knowledgeable tinter who can span the gamet of routine to custom work and I'm sure you'll get something that will please you.

I don't think anyone has encounterd problems with the defogger. The problem with the back window is the 'matrix'. the area near the top of the glass with little black dots. This area is problomatic for the tint to adhere to. Fixes include sanding the dots down, tinting only to top heating element, and painting the rest of the area, or having balck vinyl installed above the top element.
I'm looking for a fix myself right now, as my seats are out of the car.
BTW I just had my tint done last Oct. when I got her new.

I got limo tint on side windows and rear but over the rear top element had black vinyl installed, as you can not see thru that section with the rearview mirror anyway, looks 
and keeps temps lower in cockpit

Just had mine done last week on a 99 coupe. Legal on the sides and dark, but not limo dark on the rear. Also went with vinyl in 1/2 semi-circle around the AM antenna. Damn dots would not stick down. But as said, can't see it anyway, inside or out.
