Default What spark plug is recommended??

I just put long tube headers on my C5 & while I have it down, i'm replacing the plugs. Should I stay with the NGK TR-55's or go with something else? Thanks in advance for your help

NGK's are just as good as anything else, you will not see anymore hp if you change.

Go with the AC Delco 41-985 Iridiums. They are now the stock plug for C5s. They are as good, or better, than anything else out there, and you won't have to change them out once a year as they're a long-life plug. I have never seen any documented, measureable proof that any plug, properly gapped, and properly heat ranged, from a reputable manufacturer, performed better than any other reputable manufacturer's plug, power-wise. You can usually buy them cheaper at an auto parts store than from a dealer.

What is the gap setting on these? Are they pre gapped?

THanks.

They come pregapped. If memory serves me right, it's .040. Take a look at the AC Delco website. I checked all of mine, in the store, at the time I bought them. They were right on.

Been working on cars for 10+ years and that is true. The only ones I really stay away from are Autolite as they just paint their threads so they rust easier and stick in the head more.

Also do NOT use a ramp plug gapping tool on Iridiums as that will damage them and also a lot of Plat. tip ones as well. Use the right tool, but most Iridiums and even plats now seem to come pre-gapped.

I only use NGK Iridiums IX's. You will see mpg gain and longer life. Have them and have had them in several cars now.
