I've been cramming, turning, pulling and this TPIS header will not go in on the passenger side of my 97 MM6 (Following instructions from 97vette.com). The AC lines are not helping and I thought about going from underneath, but I don't have enough height. There is only enough space for me to crawl underneath. Looking for ideas and suggestions.
Did you take the coil packs and the valve cover off? It could very well be hitting on the starter or the wires for the starter. Look at my install here .
I've removed the coil packs, valve covers, and wires. It's pretty bare since I'm changing to the LS6 intake manifold at the same time. The wrap around the AC line or the line itself seems to be my problem. I've cleared the starter easily, and it will not drop in.
I finally got it . I removed the AIR check valve and replaced the check valve and the header slid right in. Thanks for the reply Cajundude.
Has anyone ever cleaned their O2 sensors with Carb cleaner? A mechanic told me this would be okay to use on O2 sensors and to wire brush them afterwards.
One more thing, I'm some how missing my bellhousing header mounting bracket. I noticed that it was not attached to the H-pipe and does anyone know if a vendor might carry this part and which one?
