I recently installed long tube Dynatech headers and a Halltech Stinger intake.....could either one be causing this code? I'm almost 100% sure I have the O2's wired correctly.
I would have thought if I got any code with the headers it would have been for the secondary O2's if they were accidently crossed, but this code is for Bank 2, Primary Sensor.
I had and still have a code on my secondary O2's pops up every now and then and my 02's are hooked up correctly..the code comes up because of the highflow cats not heating quick enough..
in your case though, I would double check to make sure all your wiring etc.. is all hooked up correctly and nothing got knocked loose,,maybe you already did this. This code is from the headers for sure.
Yeah I'm wondering if maybe that O2 just was going bad and being further downstream not might be too far away for it to read correctly?
Only other thing I might look for is a burnt wire...but I had them out of the way pretty good.
Had that problem for a while after LTHs. Had the car tuned and it went away for about 2000 miles. Then the code came back and I deleted it and it has not reappeared. Suggest that you delete the code and see what happens.
I was getting that code and also P1154 with Dynatech headers. I disconnected the rear o2 sensors and plugged in o2 simms instead. No more codes, at least not those codes anymore.
1153 and 1133 are front o2 sensor codes
they are because of the headers and the cats have nothingt o do with them
the sensors are farther down stream and as such do not ehat up as they used to and thats what the code is for
there are about 8 different codes that all mean about the same thing when it comes to the front 02s
some people have said getting an adapter and placing rear o2 sims in the front bungs plugged into the front 02 sensor connectors will fix this
I havent tried that yet
rear o2 sensors are self heated units and a higher wattage so it makes sense that placing them in the front bung may indeed alleviate these codes
Burnt/melted wires could cause this and there is a possibility that the sensor got contaminated with something when it was removed to install the headers. Hopefully, if there is damage it is confined to the O2 sensor pigtail, as the O2 sensor harness is not as simple as it looks and can be very difficult to repair. Both front and rear O2 sensors are heated and use the air supplied through the harness as a reference.
Once you verify the wiring harness is good, replace the O2 sensor but do not use sims for the front sensors as the PCM uses their output to set your AFR
