Hey, can anyone confirm the size or provide a part number for the resistors needed to bypass the RTD system? I've read 5 ohm@15W, but would like to be sure. Thanks...
I've heard of Tech II's, but Murphy's Law says my dealer won't know what the f _ _ _ I'm talkin' about. Is this "tool" something that dealers normally have?
If a dealer doesn't have a Tech II in-house steer far away from them. It's an essential service tool for any GM dealership.
Call around and talk to different service techs until you find one that will shut F45 off for you. My buddy had his done for 25 bucks in 10 minutes at a local dealer.

The service manual says 9-15 ohms resistance is the specification when doing diagnosis of codes. I crawled under my car to look at the connectors. I believe you would have to get the exact fit electrical male and female components, then wire in the resistor across each pair of posts, then install all 8 connectors. This would fool the F45. The trick would be to waterproof all of it. I was throwing codes on mine so I just put duct tape over the connectors to seal out water. So far no more codes, but I'm going to wait a while to be sure before installing Z06 shocks and disabling the F45. The socalled simulators sold by vendors are $200..way overpriced. Get the techII done because you may want to return to F45 when you sell your car...the simulators would have to go with the car or it will throw codes anyway.
