Has anyone put in 373 ring & Pinion Gear Set without a new Differential? How is it?

It's a perfect street gear. And it doesn't eat up gas. Shold have been an option.

I have the 315 now does putting in just the gear make any noise or wine? I had a friend that had just the gears put in and they wined.

If they whine then they weren't set up properly, I had 3.73 gears in my car for a while and this is by far the best mod that everyone should try.

I have 4.10's and they don't make any noise. It's all how they're set up and broken in.

Thanks for the info.
I could not see getting a new differential for 1400 plus 1000 core when the gear set is 399.00 from WCC

if 4.10's can be setup to where there's no whine - then 3.73 should be a sure thing (but it's dependant upon who does the work though).

Who are you going to have do the install? I'd call ECS, they may not be too far of a drive for you. It'll cost around $1200 installed.
As for break in proceedure, it's simple. No WOT, burnouts, etc.. or staying at the same speed for too long for 400 miles. Then have the fluid changed.

I just had 3.42's put in w/ a 2600 stall TC back in July only about 600mi on them,I'm already thinking about going to 3.73's.Don't get me wrong. The 3.42's & TC are awsome.BUT its never fast enough. Why is that?
