Default Z06 Head ??

I just bought Z06 heads for my 99 FRC. Mods already installed, Z06 intake, G5x2 cam, longtube headers, BPP Vortex, ported maf, ported/polished throttle body and tuning....should the injectors be changed to Z06 units since the cam and heads will provide more air to the engine? Thanks!

1999 and 2000 C5s came with 26.2 lb injectors. 1997, 1998, and all 2001-2004 LS1s, and LS6s, came with 28.8 lb injectors. The stock 26.2's will probably be okay, depending on your power output of course, but changing to the 28.8 lb units will give you a lower duty cycle on the injectors, and more room for growth. I changed to the 28.8 lb units on mine when I had heads and cam, longtubes, high flow cats, LS6 intake, etc., installed. Check with Jason, at Texas Speed and Performance, for take-offs from other cars. Can't beat the price if he has any.

Default Injectors

Based on experience with my lightly modded 02 Z06, I would consider stepping up the injectors.

Based on your setup, you may make more power than I am and the stock units are measuing TOO SMALL!

I have logged extensively and found the #28's that came in it to be marginal with my setup. In many instances I have gone to 110 to 115% duty cycle, which is a no no. After a hard run through the mountains, I popped the hood and blistered a finger touching an injector. I am switching to a set of SVO 30#'s which with our fuel pumps rate at around 36#,for piece of mind.

Good luck and enjoy!

I have very similar mods to yours, and had the 28.8 lb injectors installed. My cam is smaller, LPE GT 2-3. Injector duty cycle is running at approx 86% max which I'm told is about as high as you want to go. I would go with the 28.8's at a minimum and maybe a little larger if you have the money to spend.

I would just step up to Ford SVO 30's, the Z06 28.8's are just barely enough for the stock motor. The SVO's will give you lots of room to grow.

Yeah.. you dont want to max out your injectors.. You really can't go too big within reason. I'm running FMS 42lb injectors and am at only 65% duty cycle...
