I am going to be installing my shift kit this week on my 97. Just seeing if anyone else out there has done this. I have done a shift kit before on my old mustang, but never a corvette. Any help/tips would be great. Thanks.

Most important thing : RTM. And watch the video a few times
Buy a new filter and pan gasket; $41 from a GM dealership.
Have several cans of brake cleaner spray to clean parts.
Be extra - EXTRA - careful putting the bolts back; they are different lengths and you MUST put them in the correct locations.
Get a tranny cooler - good insurance
Take your time. It will take about 2 hours to do if you hurry from start to finish. I took my time and it took 5 hours; I wanted no mistakes.
Measure twice, cut once. You can only drill bigger holes, so make sure you are drilling the correct side and correct location.
Double check where the check ***** go and have some light grease handy to keep the single ball in place when you put it all back together.
Thank you! Sounds like it is going to be about the same as the mustang... It came with the gasket but I was planning to buy a new filter. What kind of atf did you put in? I was planning on gettin trick shift syn. Did you get the b&m tranny cooler? I was looking at those or a deeper pan with fins, any suggestions? Thanks.

I used stock Mobil ATF because I'll be doing a stall and gears soon and will flush my fluids then. Didn't want to waste the good stuff.
I got the B&M 24,000 tranny cooler. It works really well for me but I have a 160degree thermo and reprogrammed fans so my temps may not be what you will see on your car.
Deeper pan: consider your ride height before you go this route. My car is 3 inches off the ground so a deeper pan is a non starter for me.
