i dropped of my car at dealership to get clb recall done ,i had them check my ac and this is what they came up with, the ac head unit is not working and the high pressure ac line is leaking ,it is going to cost me close to $900,i had gotten it to turn on with resetting the fuses but i have not had the air working in at least 6 months ,but i really have not driven but a few times and only at night. i just hate dropping so much on this, can somebody let me know if this sounds fair. thanks

I'd call Gene at Gene's Kar Shop, 1-866-200-9133. You can probably pick up a new AC head unit for pretty cheap. It's easy to install. As far as the leak, I guess you'd have to have the dealer fix that. All together, it shouldn't be anywhere near 900.00

price is a little high but not too terribly outrageous. the work isn't too hard to do, might wanna find out exactly what they plan on replacing and just order the parts yourself
Find out what parts you need to order (most likely the condenser is leaking). Replacing them yourself is pretty easy and then take it to the dealer to vacuum and re-fill with R134a.
look for a specialist in the repair because all a/c systems operate the same on any car. It is worth the effort to comfirm any questions. Once your sure you have the option to how to repair the problem
Thats seems high, but I do all my own work unless its under warranty. My AC just went out on my truck about a month ago and I replaced the lines and compressor and only spent around $350 in parts. I know thats on a truck and not a vette. I would shop around.
