Default Installing Walbro pump

How hard would it be to install a F20000169 (255L/hr) Walbro pump into the tank instead of the stocker? I can get the new pump alone for $100 and I am wondering what else I will need. I cant really afford the Racetronix kit which I agree would make life easier...

Sorry, that last post was for a C4.
The C5 requires a VERY specific pump in order to function properly.
In this dept. you will not have much choice if you want to do things right.

Thunder Racing and other dealers have the C5 system in stock.

A good fuel pump system is like an insurance policy on your motor.

The hardest issue is opening the plastic case that houses the pump. The racetronics set-up is worth every penny and is set-up for upgrading to a boost-a-pump if you later have more fueling requirements.

I'd like to also point out the unlike many manufacturers, racetronics monitors the forum, responds to questions (as you can see), and has a great customer service dept.

The kit looks a lot harder to install than it is.

Thanks for the positive note.
The pumps come installed in new buckets now with the upgraded wiring and fuel tube attached.

So can it be done and just replace only the pump with the Walbro?
Are the physical dimensions and connections on the stock pump the same as the 255L/hr Walbro.

No more comments about buying the Racetronix as it just cant be done right now.

You can not use an off-the-shelf Walbro without damaging the factory system and the bucket which is very important.

Walbro direct-fit HP Gerotor Jet Pump:
This pump is a direct fit replacement for the factory Walbro jet-pump. Direct-fit means no modification to the fuel module is
required therefore the full functionality of the fill bucket is maintained. The fill-bucket allows the fuel pump to use its jet + venturi
function to keep the pump immersed in fuel at all times regardless of the tank fuel level. This aids in preventing fuel starvation under
hard cornering and acceleration. Keeping the pump immersed in fuel also helps prevent moisture damage which can shorten the pump's life.

If you can't afford the proper C5 pump then put it off until you can afford it. There is no less exensive proper functioning solution to the C5 system.
