Default $$$ to weld titanium????

SITUATION:
Located a pair of titanium mufflers off a 2004 ZO6 that I'd like to install on my 03 Coupe. According to the guy who has them, he says the mufflers were "cut off" the tailpipes. I have not seen them yet, but I'm guessing they were cut off somewhere close to the muffler body..

According to the information I've been able to come up with so far, the titanium portion of the ZO6 exhaust system begins just forward of the rear axle. Everything past the "bolted flange" (pipe, muffler, etc.) from that point is titanium. I would have preferred to find an "un cut" set of mufflers/pipes, but this is what I've come up with so far...

QUESTION: Has anyone else tackled this problem before??
Titanium is not a common used metal. Will it be expensive, and how difficult will it be to find someone who KNOWS how to weld this stuff?

My gut feeling is to "take a pass" on this set.......and keep looking until I find a complete set
Thanks...

Take a pass. There are always intact sets for sale in the parts section here and they are usually in great shape. Ti is not a material many technicians know how to weld properly.

I'd pass on it as well.
Ti is quite difficult to weld and even harder to do if the metals are dissimilar which will most likely be your scenario for welding the over axle portion to the existing Ti muffler section. From what I recall the parts need to be in a zero vacuum for a proper weld or surrounded by some inert gas during the welding process.
If my GHL's work out to my liking, I may just sell the Ti set I currently have sitting around.

The TI starts at the flange after the H pipe. I have had several sets of TIs and am currently running a welded set. It was not easy to find someone who does weld titanium and therefore has the rod, gasses and experience to do it properly. I doubt anyone would weld dissimliar metals. It cost me $65 to get one pipe welded back together at the clean cut. The result is funtionally new but it is hard to buy a set cheap enough to cover the cost.
