I purchased a set of hand-ported LS1 heads that I'm going to touch up a little myself. I was wondering what valves I should get for the heads or if it is worth it with LS1 heads.
I'm planning on these heads for a stock bottom end with a CC XE-R cam. I'll be getting better valve springs with tit. retainers.
Are LS1 valves unike to the LS1? Does Ferrera make them? What size should I use, don't want too big, but definitely do not want too small? I definitely want to retain the stock valve seats.
Stock 350, or rather circa 346. I'm starting from a stock 98 LS1 motor and the bottom end is not going to be touched. The heads I have not even recieved yet so I do not know their flow ratings, they are in the mail. Power, I want a lot. But seriously, whatever I can get away with using a stock bottom end and be driveable enough to drive as a daily driver.
I have no particular HP in mind designing this, but the more the better. Though I don't need my HP in the range of 7000+ RPMS.
I would kept the stock sized valves. There is no need for huge valves in stock milder top end cars. The Ferrera does make great valves for the LS motors. There also many other companies that work with the LS motors.
