Locked Steering Wheel
You can try this too. Put the key in the ignition and turn it on, but don't start. Turn the wheel a little to the right to where the wheel "locks", then give the wheel a quick yank to the right. It should "un-pop". I had to do this several times until I could get a bypass relay kit.
The relay kit keeps the column lock from engaging and
there might be a Tech note at the forum on how to install it vs. going to the dealer. It's pretty easy and my kit cost $100 (for a relay and a connector...go figure!).
Hope this helps.

I think that b/c it was a recall they are going to fix it free of charge. (fingers are crossed!) Either pay my tuition or have my vette fixed....thats a no brainer!!!
They just reflash the PCM.
If it happens a second time, they may remove the locking plate( if it is an auto) IF it is a mnual there is no dealer fix. You need to install a CLB
(column lock bypass) form either Thunderracing.com or Corvettesofhouston.com
Do educate yourself by reading the sticky. The prefered member fix costs $49....
