I really like the finish on the JetHot coated headers and if they help keep things cooler under the hood too, Great!
Yeah, I've heard LG makes the best system but weekend street driving is all my car will ever see. Soooooo.......
For the money, fit and finish, what would be recommended??? Along with the header install I'm planning a pretty lumpy cam (w/stock heads, new springs, push rods ect.) and underdrive pulleys.
Thanks and Your opninons are highly valued! Just look at all the trouble you guys got me into so far!

http://www.jet-hot.com/pages/newheaders.html At less than $600 for long tubes, the best deal in town. I have their shorties, as Texas is as bad as California when it comes to emission testing.
They say that coating a SS header is an overkill. I like the idea though and I also like the Jet Hot coating much better than porcelin. Save that for coffee mugs! There are some shops around that do a Jet Hot type coating for less than half the price of Jet Hot though. I use a place here in San Diego called Olympic Coating which does all the JBA shortie headers. Can't beat their prices. You probably have cheaper ones around Phoenix even though they have a Jet Hot in your area.
As I have said to a few others asking about Jet-Hots. They are not made with flanges. If you want Jet-Hots, have them flanged when installed. Otherwise you risk a leaky system as the slip-fit connection to the front of the h-pipe don't always. Also, make sure the air tubes are not restricted. My purchase of Jet-Hots was a nightmare.

would you please expand on this ??? I was interested in these headers - but am now cautious because of what you said.

Robert, Interesting... A great fit is more important than the looks.
Perhaps the best route is to purchase a good fitting header. Have it coated elsewhere. Which brings up more questions... What would be the better longtube to purchasefor the money? What does it cost to have a set of headers coated?

You live in Mesa, I think Jet-Hot has a plant in Phoenix. I'd bet if you brought in another mfgr's headers that they'd coat them for you. I have absolutely NO issue with the coating. I wouldn't hazard a guess as to cost of coating.

By the way, Seitz is not a very common name. Would you happen the be related to anyone in or from Kansas?
I've seen it here in the last few weeks but if you look on Jet Hots' site, I think they tell you what they charge for long tubes??
It was $279 for a guy to get some LG's done, plus shipping.
I've been hot to put headers, x-pipe, free-flowing cats on too but since everyone says you need a tune afterwards, I'm having second thoughts as to the money to HP ratio being so far off!!

Pretty common name in German communities although my great grandparents immigrated here from France late 1800's. Chevrolet!
No, no relations in the midwest.

When the ceramic coating is applied is it only on the outside? Or inside too?
Both sides...
From their site:
JET-HOT® develops, produces and applies a variety of coatings for parts exposed to high temperatures and/or corrosive environments. All are applied at one of our regional factories through a meticulous, multi-step process including: thermal degreasing, abrasive-blast stripping with virgin aluminum oxide, double-coating (inside and out on headers), high temperature curing, custom packaging for return shipping, and quality-assurance controls during every phase of the procedure.
I have the JetHots, their the same as TPIS headers. They both use the slip fit method which didn't seal with band clamps so i used the old style exhaust clamp. I figured mine leaked because I didn't use the H-pipe they provided. I removed my cats and used a Dr. Gas 3" x-pipe that someone had made up, and it was sprung and flared a little to big. The headers installed without to much problems, just follow instructions from TPIS installs. My other mistake was not buying new exhaust gaskets, everyone said I could reuse my old ones so I didn't buy any. Well I have a small leak and had to order new ones. My old ones were pretty rusted up and I should have just waited. As for 1/4 mile improvements I have seen nothing, after headers,LS6 intake, deleted cats, X-Pipe and a new cat back maybe a tenth to 2.

Have you taken your car to a tuner? You should see/feel a noticable gain...I would think.

We don't have any tuners around me, but Carmen at Vette Drs. e-mailed me a tune since I have LS1 edit. 6 hours to Texas for the nearest tuner shops I know of, waiting for the cam before I do that. Last 3 times to track and 13.05 seems to be the average. I have hit a fluke 12.64 once and a few 12.88's but I was runing 12.98 before the full exhaust job and intake. Also have Pt2400 and 3.73's
I just got my Lg headers back from Jet Hot In Pascagoula, Ms thursday. They look awesome, almost like chrome. I had my x-pipe done also. The total cost including shipping back was 342.00. This price was with a 10% discount they had going on and possibly still going on. They recvd them on thursday and I got them back the following thursday. Some do and some don't coat the headers when they are 304 stainless. For the heat reduction and looks and possibly even better flow I decided to have mine done. Supposed to get them installed this wednesday. Some also don't get a tune after headers but since it will probably be a while before I do a h/c I decided to go ahead and get it done. Will be checking the hp & tq after headers and also after the tune. I'm ready to hear those babies roar.
