It is a known problem.
Your choices are
1. Buy a new AC head unit form your local dealer for about $380 for the part and 4 hours labor at what ever they extort.
2. Buy a new part form Fred Beans for about $280 and replace yourself
3. Buy aused unit via ebay... about $165-175
4. Buy a fix from the forementioned repair person for $50 and do the removal/install yourself.
Basically the issue is cold solder joints. The repair specialists resolder all the suseptible contacts.
Do a search on HVAC and you should find some intructions of removal of the unit
