Default 342 gears Question????????

I'm changing my 273 in my A4 to a 342. What difference will it make if I put in a Yank SS32000 TC. I hear a lot of people talking about them. I dont race the car just looking for more punch. Thanks

Do the yank, or 3.73 gears. I did the 3.42, no t/c change. Good change, but not near what I had expected.

Put a high-stall TC behind a stock motor and you will not be happy. Day-to-day driving with that setup will not be much fun and will benefit you very little as far as street acceleration is concerned.
High stall TC's are for engines that NEED them.

i went from 2,73 and stock t/c to 3.42 and a 3600 stall t/c......didn't like it for the first few days.......but now i love it and would totally recomend doing any t/c above 2800......i dont even feel the converter anymore. Your head totally adjusts to it ......do it!!!!! my car picked up over a second in the 1/4mile from this setup.I to was very worried about the loose feeling everybody talks about. again to a tc with the gear swap

I also added a Vigilante 2800 TC. You will love the 3.42 gears and TC.

I have 3.42 gears and a Pro-Torque 2400-2600 converter and I am very happy with the performance gain. I am glad that I went with the "mild" set-up.

I went from a 2.72 to a 3.42 with a yank 4000SS. It dropped my 1/8th mile from a 8.7@84 to a 8.1@87. Best money I could've spent.
