I have the same problem after working on my dash. I don't think that
the airbag system codes come up on the DIC- I am taking my car to
a trusted mechanic that thinks his scanner will read the airbag sys. Let
you know in a couple of days. Gene
I had the same problem for about two weeks now. I happen to notice lastnight that the light was off. I will see if it's on today on the way home from work. I thought it was funny that it just "went off" Oh well. At least it's off for the time being.

Air bag codes should come up under the SDM module.
My airbag light is on too. My mechanic used a tek 2 and says that the main airbag control module in the dash is bad. The part itself is close to $500.00 plus about another $100.00 for labor to install. I will be taking it in to him soon for the repair. I would try this myself but if messed up and lit off the airbags inside the car it would not be pretty.
Be sure to let us know the outcome for you because there is not much info on this topic.

it's not much more difficult than removing the console bezel (tranny, radio, ac bezel). You can see the module with the bezel off. Just unhook the battery when you change it. Might need a scanner tho to clear the codes..... not sure, but don't let them charge you a lot of labor - it ain't no big thing dude. Also, the last module I bought was less than $300 (new from dealer for a 99 coupe) - ask for a better parts price.
