Default Yet another HUD Installation question

Some have mentioned the 1999 gauge clusters may or MAY NOT have the HUD enabled gauge cluster.

Is there any way to tell without ripping the car apart prior if you have the "good" cluster? Would the VIN indicate if it had it? My VINs last five are 2xxxx (greater than 20k- I forget).

Have there been any 99 or later years that HAVE NOT had the HUD plug? If so, was it a low VIN? I am opeful this information will be able to help future HUDDERS to determine prior to the deed.

Is Josh still making the HUD 11 pin cables?

Thanks in advance for your help! I'll be sure to provide a review of the project as well.

I don't think there is a way to tell without taking it out. It isn't difficult to do at all. If you can turn a screw driver, you can take a look

As far as Josh's harness, I got mine from him a couple of weeks ago. Although it took me a month to get it from him...he is very difficult to get in touch with lately.

I installed my HUD a couple of weeks ago and love it! Well worth the money and effort.

Thanks for the info. That is what I figured... I have pulled several dashes apart and fell short of the dash pad. I ordered the parts even though I wasn't 100% sure.

How did you get in touch with Josh? I emailed him and haven't heard from him. I hope to hear soon so I could do the install next weekend.

I have a full plate of upgrades for the weekend: Z06 shocks, sways, and HUD.

If anyone knows Josh and could ask him to send me one I would greatly appreciate it.
