I keep getting the notices from GM to have this recall performed but I have installed the CLB and never had a problem. I do not intend to take the car to GM to have an un-necessary (worthless) service performed on my 6 sp that I've already fixed. How would you suggest that I respond to the notice. The choices are:
1. I have never owned/leased this vehicle
2. Vehicle was damaged beyond repair and scrapped
3. Vehicle was stolen and not recovered
4. Other
This is the 2nd or 3rd notice that I've received. So how would you respond?
Just ignore them. If you tell them you don't own it anymore then you might not get future recall notices.
Or maybe you could say "other"?
DO NOT tell them you don't own the car, you will probably get removed from the database and might miss a recall notice in the future. I would just say "Other" the recall was done.

If you still have it, send them the receipt for your CLB purchase, with a quick note saying "already fixed"..
You've got a 50/50 shot they will send you reimbursement for it.
They've done it for others...and if they do deny it, you're only out the cost of the stamp.
I took my 04 in for some warranty work and was worried that they would perform the column lock work at the same time. I talked to the service manager and he said we can't make you perform the recall if you don't want it done. I've already received two recalls.
I have a custom tune to support the S/C install. Any reflash would kill the car. It wouldn't even start after the flash of the PCM.
