Problem with dash lights and parking lights

Problem with dash lights and parking lights
When I go to turn on my headlights, only the headlights come on. No dash lights and no parking lights. All fuses are good. I'm suspecting a bad switch in the signal lever. This is a intermittent problem. Some times it just comes on. Any suggestions?

Mine does the same thing. I "think" its the headlight switch, because every time I unlock the car, the approch lights work, so it's not a relay. But I've been to lazy to fix it. 
But help from people who "actualy" have fixed it would be a help for me too, 
so I don't order the wrong part if I'm wrong.

I had the same problem, the '97 headlights would not come on and the '98 parking lights wouldn't work. I swapped the multi function switches from the '97 & '98 to see if that was the problem. Now both cars work correctly........so.........try unplugging and plugging in the main connector under the dash. Mine were clean looking but I think something was not making a good connection. Could have saved myself some work if I tried that first
