Z06 valve spring colors?

Does anyone know what color the stripe is on the 01,02,03 and 04 LS6 valve springs? Or does the color not really mean anything. Thanks.

The springs are not striped but the whole spring is colored. 2001 used a bluish spring whereas 02-04 used a yellow green spring.

valve spring stripes

Some after-market valve springs have a blue stripe on them in order to distinguish them from a batch of bad springs produced about two years ago. The bad springs were recalled, but not all made it - I know . Do a search using key words 'blue stripe' or 'bad springs'; see if that will provide you with more info.

The springs with the blue stripe are Comp 26918's not stock GM.
