Default Fob emblem CD

Couple questions for the group who knows! VIQ (Vette In Question) is 99 roadster.
1) How is the trunk emblem attached? Screws? Screws and adhesive? Adhesive only? I'd like to clean around it and removing it would make that an easier job.
2) My (in dash) cd player (factory head unit. Changer in trunk missing) seems to play cd's fine, but not the ones I make myself. Are these typically more sensitive this way? Don't have any problems in my other car.
3) The fob question. For the 99, I have found two numbers on ebay: 10253839 and 10432147. Both seem to be the "right" fobs for a 99, and the only difference I can see is that the 10253839 has the passive feature and the other doesn't. Personally, I don't care for the passive unlocking, so the one without it would work fine for me. But, I have not been able to find THE answer to this. Is anyone using a 10432147 on their 99 model? (or 98 or 97). Calling the dealership does not help. They only go "by the book", and the book calls for 10253839. The car had NO fob with it when I bought it, so I want one. One that works with the car, of course.

I'm still looking for the inner trunk floor lid thingy, also.

OK, I'll give this a shot:
1. Trunk Emblem is attached by adhesives only. If you want to remove it, CAREFULLY employ a heat gun to slightly loosen the adhesive, then use fishing line to 'cut' the adhesive, then use something like 3M adhesive remover to clean up the rear deck.

2. It depends on the type of CD-R you are using and how you finish the CD when you burn it. Try CD-R not the CD-RW

3. The passive button, I think, was only for the 97 and 98 years.

HTH,
Joe

I pretty much suspected that the rear emblem was a glue only installation. So, removing it to clean really doesn't make sense. I'll just have to poke around and clean it carefully on the car.
I've been burning cds for quite a while, and early on, the players didn't seem to like home made disks. But as technology in players improved, they always seemed to work just fine. Except in this car. Not a critical function, but dissapointing, nonetheless.

According to GM, the passive fob (10253839) is the correct one for 97-99. I'd like to hear if anyone has used the other for their 99. Obviously, I could just buy one (of each) and test them, but that is a waste of money.
