Rattle? Pinging?

Rattle? Pinging?
I am hearing a rattle/pinging sound in any gear, any temperature, but only on acceleration, and on the driver's side only.
It sounds like it's coming from the vicinity of the driver's front oxygen sensor.
Anyone had these cause a noise before?
I have a '97 A4, 60K great miles. Recent plugs, wires, NO CODES

See my pingin thread...there is a TSB on the rear knock sensors going bad. I thought my pingin may have been a result of a bad KS, but new plugs REALLY helped. Your condition sounds a little more pronounced than mine, so it may very well be a bad KS. Do you wash your engine compartment frequently?

It's all but gone, but I think the car is still running a bit lean due to the condition of the plugs. Seriously, at 35,000 miles, the plugs were AWFUL. Just replacing the plug eliminated about 95% of the problem
