My 97 has 60k and there is vibrating when I hit the brakes. I don't know if i need new rotors in the front or back or both. Same goes for the pads. Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I replaced the rotors and put ceramic pads on my 99 last September after 68K miles. The rotors were warped but the pads still had at least half the useable material left. I got tired of the pulsation and brake dust.
I put on raybestos drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads that I got from www.rockauto.com for less that $350. No more dust and every thing is great. Just do it.
If you have trouble with the parking brake let me know, I have developed a procedure to fix that bad boy too.
I think I got mine at autozone, the rotors were dirty cheap... like $30 a piece, ceramic pads weren't too expensive and less dust than whatever was on it before

Paul - What is your procedure for the parking brake?
Sounds like you need new rotors to me. Check out Sportbrakes. They are a forum vendor and have quality products at great prices. I bought some of their slotted rotors a few months ago when I cracked the stock ones at an Open Road Race.
Click on "My Corvette Photos" to see some pics of them on my car.
