Default c5 convertible electrical issues

Background: Had electrical problems loosing electrical power. Put on new delco alternator, belt and computer. Computer because alternator was apparently not the problem as computer was sending signal to stop alternator from charging. (wheelwell facia had physical damage. apparently computer was damaged by shock of somethinmg that hit it.)

Current status: Car now charges and runs fine but tonneau cover will not open using electriical button and air conditioner will not work. Fuses to conneau cover appear to be ok. Fuse to air conditioner keeps blowing. I don't know how to test or replace related relays.

Question: Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Default c5 electrical issues

First off, what a great, informative post.

The answer is that the series of electrical issues had a cascading impact on various electrical components. First a serge zapped the wiring on the tonneau switch. Solution: reconnect a hot source lead to the switch rather than tear the car about to find the actual source of the problem.

Two, a selenoid (sp) that engages/disengages the air conditioner clutch froze. Replace selenoid.
