Default wipers wont shut off

Hello all,

My vettes finally running after3 bcms, 3 relearns, and a few reflashes with my vin. Anyway My wipers dont shut off. I have to pull the fuse..I replaced the bad one I had with a good used one and it is doing the same damn thing now a week later. My first one wouldnt shut off, i had to pull the fuse, then it finally wouldnt come on at all

My new one i installed worked fine for a week. Now its doing the same thing as the old one. It wont shut off either and I have to pull the damn fuse. EMBARRASSING

ANY HELP?

Please dont post pics of clogged pasageways under it. It is completely dry and clean. I have checked it numerous times and is not full of dirt and leaves. I am thinking..the wiper assembly switch on the steering column is bad? How can I tell?
Any help appreciated. Is this common?

I had the same thing on a 2002. The only way to cut them off was to remove the fuse. It was a bad switch in the stalk and the stalk was replaced.

Not sure if this is the case with C5s, but on late 90s GM trucks, the same symptoms are caused by failure of solder joints on the circuit board of the wiper motor. Replacement of the motor (or just the board) fixes the issue.

I had a friend with this same problem, we pulled the fuse for the immediate remedy and then he too found out the next day at the dealer, bad switch inside the stalk. New Stalk installed and he was good to go.

The stalk is the lever off the steering column used to control the wipers...

I have a C5 wiper motor for sale if interested. I had a problem with my windshield wipers not turning on a year ago but it turned out to be a whole nother issue. I purchased it from Gene's Kar Shop but never used it. It comes with the wiper arms and assembly as well, just throw that away if you want the motor but don't need the complete assembly. $100 shipped.

Same thing here - bad switch in my silver 02. GMPP picked up the whole tab, estimated to be over $400 by dealer tech.
