My acrylic top looks like there is a clear coat that is starting to flake off. Has anyone seen this before, and if so, is there a fix? Thanks, Bob
Mine has just started doing it on my 02. The car is a dd and the acrylic top has been on continuously since the car was new. Got the solid top in a bag under the bed, where it's safe!
same problem. I have a 97. I am the third owner. Car was in the southwest. I figured it was from the sun. I'm sure there is a fix. Keep in touch. I'll do the same.
My car is a '99. This problems started with a small line, about 1/4" long and is spreading like crazy. It has grown to about 6" long in a month. I took it to a local body shop and they had no idea what to do about it.
Thanks,
Bob
From: Ponderables, yes. My opinion, not totally. Preaching...I don't have a pulpit. Fact and generalizations about what I am reading on behalf of what you tell me...absolutely.
You should see mine! About 4 in wide and goes the full width of the top. And its getting worse. The car is garage kept, but that does not seem to help. I have been looking for a fix too. It doesn't leak, so I can't justify the buying of a new one right now.
I have heard of some people painting their top and others tinting the top on the outside.
