Default Long Tube vs Shorty headers

I was just wondering how big a difference in power gains there is between shorty and LT headers and if the difference increases as your mods increase. I amjust worried about the California smog laws that are getting stricter as we speak. In my area they have a new program with the chp where they can tow your car if they see anything that even looks suspicious. If something looks like it might be modified and there is no carb sticker for it they will tow you and ask questions later. They will be pulling random cars over to check for modifications. I dont want to get caught up and wondered if I would lose a lot of power by only doing shorties. I plan to put an intercooled maggie on there with headers and a cat-back. How much whp would I lose? Thanks - Colin

Are you planning to go to the track anytime soon with the LTs? What was your trap when you ran an 11.06? Thanks - Colin

LT will get you approx 25 to 30 hp, ST approx 10 to 13 hp.

LT will out perform ST in HP, but in Cali you have to run ST

I am happy with the BBK ST on my 97
