I have a 2002 C-5 Roadster which, with forum members input, I have added Corsa's, X-Pipe, Blackwing, 160 thermostat, rear brake ducts and Hypertech. The car is not a daily driver and is used strictly on the street.
In terms of performance modifacations ...any further suggestions? I have decided I will refrain from headers, intake and more in depth engine modifacations. Whats left, Haltech? Spark plugs wires? (OK I have a heated garage and extra time!!!) Or, is it time to turn to airbrushed engine parts, slotted and drilled roters and other non performance items?
Considering you already have a blackwing, there is no reason to swap over to a haltech stinger. If you arent interested in doing any engine or exhaust mods, then I am assuming upgrading gears also isnt an option. That pretty much rules out all performance mods. Dont upgrade spark plug wires, it is a waste of time.
You might think about lowering the car, upgrading suspension components. I like my drilled/slotted baer rotors, but they are a real hassle to keep clean. The drilled/slots will look great until you drive in the rain. Brake dust will eventually accumulate in the holes and slots and the rotors will look like crap.
How about a nice set of aftermarket wheels? I have CCWs, which are amazing wheels. It all depends on where you budget stands. How about a complete leather vette essentials interior?
I'd start going with the aesthetic mods as well.... get some new rims, as these are the single most distinguishing/noticeable feature you can get for your car, imho (aside from a giant rice-rocket wing! hahaha :-).
Straightforward solid advice. I was headed straight to to Baer disks and roters until I read your response. I appreciated your ability to sense that I am 55+ years old and drive the Corvette on the great days only. Thanks for your response and the ability to be candid. OK Speed Demons I will still listen to the ideas you young folks have!!!
