Default LS1 gasket installation question

Never used these GM gaskets before. Do you need to apply any type of sealant to the engine surface or gasketsurface? When removing them from engine they didn't have any sealant. Gasket example the front timing cover.

No sealant. Just make sure the surface and gasket are clean

Default What about the intake manifold?

Does that include the intake manifold for an '01 LS1. Is it just the gasket with no sealant?

I didn't use anything on any of my waterpump, timing cover, or inatke gaskets, just made sure all surfaces were very clean and dry

Good point! Never thought of that before but it would help keep the O-rings for rolling over when wedged down between the heads.
