Default LS6 intake on LS1 97

I know it will bolt right on- but is the Throttle body going to bolt up as well? I was under the impression that the LS6 had a larger TB...anything else I would need to make it work? how is the coolant line routed and is there a part I can buy to rework it for my 97?

TIA!

TBs are identical, so no problem.

Not to hijack your thread, but what kind of power increase are we looking at if the motor is stock.?

From what I have heard- you don't get a whole lot on a stock motor...I have headers and a Haltech Stinger Intake so I opened up the air flow some...there have been threads stating at least 5HP increase to the rear wheels...I am hoping to get more with my mods. There is one thread I read that someone got 20+ on a Trans Am doing an intake only! Swap is pretty easy as well...

I did this change when I had my 97 A4 273's and no headers but a Vortex bottom feeder. I think the kit I got came with the coolant line reroute.(just sold my take off and the old lines were in the box).
I noticed the power curve moved up. With your headers you should feel more power across the board. If you plan on doing anything else to the car you need this intake.

One ? Have you owned this car from new? This mod has already been done to many cars out there. The guy that bought mine would have no idea it was already done unless he had a good eye and really new what he was looking at.

No, I am not the original owner (he was an older gent) so I don't think he did anything to it as far as mods were concerned. Is there a tell tale sign of an LS6 intake? a visable part # perhaps...

Thx!

Just so you know I'm an "older" gent and I've been doing stuff to my vettes as long as I can remember.
That said I changed mine over 5 years ago and can't recall what the visuals might have been. I would suggest a stop by your local dealer. Try the parts dept.first, then the service dept. if they are any good someone will know by looking @ your motor.

the last 2 posts summed it up, the ls6 pn's will be on ls1howto along w/ the coolant pipe info, the 333 suffix will be on the pass side of the intake near the base; although common knowledge for 95% of the forum the ls6 intake is standard in all c5's 01 and up

No offense of course!

I should have said retired and used the vette as a glorified golf cart. he was in his late 60's...

Thanks for the info!
