Default Codes 2578 and 2583

Hey guys, I tried the search and it didn't turn up much for these two codes.

2578-RF Turn Signal Monitor Circuit (Short to Voltage)
2583-LF Turn Signal Monitor Circuit (Short to Voltage)

Just curious if anyone else has had this problem and hopefully knows of a fix.
I've had 2 or 3 instances where I tried to use my turn signals (signaling lane changes) and they wouldn't work. Then, a few minutes later, they started working again...all without restarting the car or anything.

Thanks for any help!

I have the same problem. Code 2583. My left signal will stop working, then a week later it will be fine.

There are threads that cover this: here's one: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-s...and-b2583.html

Does your hazard switch work properly? If it does then you likely have an issue with your multi-function switch. Relatively common problem. Check your hazard switch and let us know...

Also, I'm assuming you've checked your bulbs to make sure they're okay? Unlikely for both of them to go out at the same time but you never know...

Thanks. Yes, the hazard works fine. I would change the bulb every time it stopped working, which was every couple of months. Then, last time it stopped working I waited a couple of weeks and it started working again.
